ዊልያም ቲንደል (ከ. 1490-1536) መጽሓፍ ቅዱስ ካብ ቀዳማይ እብራይስጥን ግሪኽን ናብ እንግሊዝኛ ምትርጓም ህይወቱ ወፈየ፣ ቅዱሳት ጽሑፋት ንኩሉ ሰብ ክበጽሕ ብዘለዎ ህርፋን ተደሪኹ። ራእዩ እንኳዕ "መሬት ዝሓርስ ቆልዓ" ቅዱሳት ጽሑፋት ክፈልጥ ነበረ።
ብኣንጻር ስርሑ ዝነበረ ተቓውሞ ምኽንያት ቲንደል ካብ እንግሊዝ ክሃድም ተገደደ። ኣብ ኩሉ ኣህጉር ኤውሮጳ፣ ብፍላይ ኣብ ጀርመንን ኔዘርላንድስን እናሰርሐ ትርጉሙ ኣጠናቐቐ። ብ1535 ኣብ ኣንትወርፕ ጥቓ ተታሊሉ ተታሕዘ፣ ድሕሪኡ ኣብ ቪልቮርደ ቤት-ማእሰርቲ ኣብ ጥቓ ብራሰልስ ተኣሰረ።
ኣብ ጥቅምቲ 6, 1536 ኣብኡ ተቐትለ - ኣብ ድዋል ተሓኒቑ ድሕሪኡ ተቓጸለ። መወዳእታ ዝተመዝገበ ጸሎቱ "ጎይታ፣ ዓይኒ ንጉስ እንግሊዝ ክፈት" ነበረ።
ብ1604 ንጉስ ጀምስ ቀዳማይ ናይ እንግሊዝ ሓድሽ ትርጉም መጽሓፍ ቅዱስ ኣፍቀደ፣ ጉጅለ ምሁራት ድማ ነቲ ድሕሪኡ ትርጉም ንጉስ ጀምስ ተባሂሉ ዝፍለጥ ስራሕ ጀመሩ። ብ1611 ተዛዚሙ ንመጀመርታ ግዜ ተሓትመ፣ ኣብ ቅድሚኡ ናይ ቲንደል ትርጉም ኣዝዩ ብዙሕ ተመርኲሱ፣ ብፍላይ ኣብ ሓዲስ ኪዳኑ ዘሎ ቃላት ብዙሕ ካብ ስርሑ ይንጸባረቕ።
መስዋእቲ ቲንደል ቃል ኣምላኽ ናብ ኣእዳው ተራ ሰባት ክበጽሕ ሓገዘ፣ ክሳብ ሎሚ ድማ መጽሓፍ ቅዱስ ብእንግሊዝኛ ከመይ ከምዝንበብ ይጸልዎ ኣሎ።
