This holy song setteth forth the pure love betwixt bride and bridegroom, and in figure declareth the tender, jealous, and unquenchable love of the Lord toward His people. It comforteth believers with the promise that true covenant love cannot be bought, broken, nor quenched by many waters, and calleth them to chaste devotion and joyful fellowship with their Beloved.
