This prophecy was given in a time of idolatry and pride among Judah and the nations round about. The LORD declares a near and terrible day of wrath upon sin, yet calls the meek to seek him, promising a purified remnant, the taking away of judgments, and joyful restoration in his midst for all who trust in his name.
