This prophecy was given among the captives in a strange land, to reveal the glory of the LORD, to rebuke idolatry and bloodshed, and to warn of certain judgment. Yet it also declares a new heart, a new spirit, the gathering of the scattered, and the covenant of peace, that believers in every age might fear the LORD, turn from their evil ways, and hope in His sure mercy.
