2 در روز هفتم خدا همۀ کار آفرینش را تمام کرد و از آن دست کشید.
dar ruze haftome khodā hameye kāre 'āfarinesh rā tamām kard va 'az 'ān dast keshid.
On the seventh day, God finished all the work of creation and stopped it.
3 او روز هفتم را مبارک خواند و آنرا برای خود اختصاص داد، زیرا در آن روز همۀ کار آفرینش را تمام کرد و از آن دست کشید.
'u ruze haftom rā mobārak khānd va 'ān rā barāye khod 'ekhtesās dād, zirā dar 'ān ruz hameye kāre 'āfarinesh rā tamām kard va 'az 'ān dast keshid.
He called the seventh day blessed and dedicated it to himself, because on that day he finished all the work of creation and stopped it.
Man and Woman in the Garden
The First Man - Adam
4 این چگونگی آفرینش آسمان ها و زمین است.
'in chegunegiye 'āfarineshe 'āsemānhā va zamin 'ast.
وقتی خداوند، خدا آسمان ها و زمین را ساخت،
vaghti khodāvand, khodā 'āsemānhā va zamin rā sākht,.
This is how the heavens and the earth were created. When God created the heavens and the earth,
5 هیچ گیاه یا علف سبز در روی زمین نبود، زیرا خداوند هنوز باران در زمین نبارانیده بود و کسی نبود که در زمین زراعت کند.
hich giyāh yā 'alafe sabz dar ruye zamin nabud, zirā khodāvand hanuz bārān dar zamin nabārānide bud va kasi nabud ke dar zamin zerā'at konad.
There was no plant or green grass on the earth, because God had not yet sent rain on the earth and there was no one to cultivate the earth.
6 اما آب از زیر زمین بالا می آمد و زمین را سیراب می کرد.
'ammā 'āb 'az zirzamin bālā mi'āmad va zamin rā sirāb mikard.
But the water came up from under the ground and watered the ground.
7 پس از آن خداوند، خدا مقداری خاک از زمین برداشت و از آن آدم را ساخت و در بینی او روح حیات دمید و او یک موجود زنده گردید.
pas 'az 'ān khodāvand, khodā meghdāri khāk 'az zamin bardāsht va 'az 'ān 'ādam rā sākht va dar biniye 'u ruhe hayāt damid va 'u yek mojud zende gardid.
After that, God took some soil from the earth and made Adam from it and breathed the spirit of life into his nose and he became a living being.
God’s Garden - Tree of Life & Knowledge
8 خداوند، خدا باغی در عدن که بطرف مشرق است درست کرد و آدم را که ساخته بود در آنجا جا داد.
khodāvand, khodā bāghi dar 'adan ke betarafe mashregh 'ast dorost kard va 'ādam rā ke sākhte bud dar 'ānjā jā dād.
God created a garden in Eden facing the east and placed Adam there.
9 خداوند همه نوع درختان زیبا و میوه دار را در آن باغ رویانید و درخت زندگی و همچنین درخت شناسائی خوب و بد را در وسط باغ قرار داد.
khodāvand hameye no'e derakhtāne zibā va miveye dār rā dar 'ān bāghe ruyānid va derakhte zendegi va hamchenin derakhte shenāsāyiye khub va bad rā dar vasate bāgh gharār dād.
God grew all kinds of beautiful and fruitful trees in that garden and placed the tree of life and also the tree of knowledge of good and bad in the middle of the garden.
10 دریائی از عدن می گذشت و باغ را سیراب می کرد و از آنجا به چهار دریای دیگر تقسیم می شد.
daryāyi 'az 'adan migozasht va bāgh rā sirāb mikard va 'az 'ānjā be chāhār daryāye digar taghsim mishod.
A sea passed through Eden and watered the garden and from there it was divided into four other seas.
11 دریای اول پیشون است که سرزمین حویله را دور می زند.
daryāye 'avvale pishun 'ast ke sarzamine havile rā dur mizanad.
The first sea is Pishun, which surrounds the land of Havilah.
12 (در این سرزمین طلای خالص و عطر گران قیمت و سنگ عقیق وجود دارد.)
( dar 'in sarzamin talāye khāles va 'atre gerāne gheymat va sange 'aghigh vojud dārad. ).
(In this land there is pure gold and expensive perfume and agate stone.)
13 دریای دوم جیحون است که سرزمین کوش را دور می زند.
daryāye dovvome jeyhun 'ast ke sarzamine kush rā dur mizanad.
The second sea is Jihun, which surrounds the land of Kush.
14 دریای سوم دجله است که از شرق آشور می گذرد، و دریای چهارم فرات است.
daryāye sevvome dejle 'ast ke 'az sharghe 'āshur migozarad, va daryāye chāhārome forāt 'ast.
The third sea is the Tigris, which passes east of Assyria, and the fourth sea is the Euphrates.
15 سپس خداوند، خدا آدم را در باغ عدن جا داد تا در آن زراعت کند و از آن نگهداری نماید.
sepas khodāvand, khodā 'ādam rā dar bāghe 'adan jā dād tā dar 'ān zerā'at konad va 'az 'ān negahdāri namāyad.
Then God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and take care of it.
16 خداوند به آدم فرمود: «اجازه داری از میوۀ تمام درختان باغ بخوری.
khodāvand be 'ādam farmud:« 'ejāze dāri 'az miveye tamāme derakhtān bāgh bekhori.
God said to Adam: "You are allowed to eat the fruit of all the trees of the garden.
17 اما هرگز از میوۀ درخت شناسائی خوب و بد نخوری، زیرا اگر از آن بخوری در همان روز می میری.»
'ammā hargez 'az miveye derakhte shenāsāyiye khub va bad nakhori, zirā 'agar 'az 'ān bekhori dar hamān ruz mimiri.».
But never eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad, because if you eat of it, you will die on the same day.
The First Woman - Eve
18 خداوند، خدا فرمود: «خوب نیست که آدم تنها زندگی کند. بهتر است که یک همدم مناسب برای او بسازم تا به او کمک کند.»
khodāvand, khodā farmud:« khub nist ke 'ādam tanhā zendegi konad. behtar 'ast ke yek hamdame monāseb barāye 'u besāzam tā be 'u komak konad.».
God said: "It is not good for a person to live alone. "I'd better make him a suitable companion to help him."
19 پس خداوند تمام حیوانات و پرندگان را از خاک زمین ساخت و پیش آدم آورد تا ببیند آدم چه نامی بر آن ها خواهد گذاشت و هر نامی که آدم بر آن ها گذاشت همان نام آن ها شد.
pas khodāvande tamāme heyvānāt va parandegān rā 'az khāk zamin sākht va pish 'ādam 'āvard tā bebinad 'ādam che nāmi bar 'ānhā khāhad gozāsht va har nāmi ke 'ādam bar 'ānhā gozāsht hamān nām 'ānhā shod.
So God created all the animals and birds from the dust of the earth and brought them to Adam to see what name Adam would give them, and whatever name Adam gave them became their name.
20 بنابرین آدم تمام پرندگان و حیوانات را نام گذاری کرد، ولی هیچ یک از آن ها همدم مناسبی برای آدم نبود که بتواند به او کمک کند.
benāberin 'ādam tamāme parandegān va heyvānāt rā nāme gozāri kard, vali hich yek 'az 'ānhā hamdame monāsebi barāye 'ādam nabud ke betavānad be 'u komak konad.
So Adam named all the birds and animals, but none of them were suitable companions for Adam to help him.
21 پس خداوند، خدا آدم را به خواب عمیقی فرو برد و وقتی او در خواب بود یکی از قبرغه هایش را گرفت و جای آنرا بهم پیوست.
pas khodāvand, khodā 'ādam rā be khābe 'amighi foru bord va vaghti 'u dar khāb bud yeki 'az ghabraghehāyash rā gereft va jāye 'ān rā behem peyvast.
So God made Adam fall into a deep sleep and when he was sleeping, he took one of his ribs and joined it together.
22 سپس از آن قبرغه زن را ساخت و او را پیش آدم آورد.
sepas 'az 'ān ghabraghe zan rā sākht va 'u rā pish 'ādam 'āvard.
Then he made a woman's grave from it and brought her to Adam.
23 آدم گفت:
'ādam goft:.
«این مثل خود من است.
« 'in mesle khode man 'ast.
استخوانِ از استخوان هایم و قسمتی از بدنم.
'estekhān 'az 'ostokhānhāyam va ghesmati 'az badanam.
نام او زن است، زیرا از انسان گرفته شد.»
nāme 'u zan 'ast, zirā 'az 'ensān gerefte shod.».
Adam said, "This is like myself." A bone of my bones and a part of my body. Her name is woman, because she was taken from man."
24 به همین دلیل مرد پدر و مادر خود را ترک نموده با زن خود زندگی می کند و هر دو یک تن می شوند.
be hamin dalil marde pedar va mādare khod rā tark nemude bā zane khod zendegi mikonad va har do yek tan mishavand.
For this reason, a man leaves his parents and lives with his wife and they both become one.
Naked - Not Ashamed
25 آدم و زنش هر دو برهنه بودند، ولی احساس خجالت نمی کردند.
'ādam va zanash har do berahne budand, vali 'ehsās khejālat nemikardand.
Adam and his wife were both naked, but they did not feel ashamed.
