Let me go today to all your cattle, and decide all that is colored and with spots, and all that is black among the sheep, and what is spotted and colored among the goats, and what happens after that, that is my salary.

I reče mu Lavan: Šta hoćeš da ti dam? A Jakov odgovori: Ne treba ništa da mi daš; nego ću ti opet pasti stoku i čuvati, ako ćeš mi učiti ovo:

And Lavan said to him: What do you want me to give you? And Jacob answered: You don't need to give me anything; but I will herd your cattle again and look after them, if you will teach me this:

This is how my justice will be proven to me afterwards when you come to see my merit: Whatever is not spotted or spotted or black among the sheep and goats in me will be stolen.

I odluči Lavan isti dan jarce s belegom i šarene i sve koze s belegom i šarene, i sve na čem beše šta belo, i sve crno između ovaca, i predade sinovima svojim.

And Laban decided on the same day the spotted and spotted goats and all the spotted and spotted goats, and everything that had white on it, and everything black among the sheep, and gave them to his sons.

When he said: Whatever is colorful, let it be your salary, then everything was colorful; and when he said: What happens with the mark, let your salary be yours, then everything with the mark got married.
