У почетку створи Бог небо и земљу. U početku stvori Bog nebo i zemlju. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
The Creation
Heaven and Earth
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
And the earth was formless and desolate, and there was darkness over the deep; and the spirit of God rose over the water.
The First Day—Light
And God said: Let there be light. And there would be light.
And God saw the light that it was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. It would be evening and it would be morning, the first day.
The Second Day—Heaven
Then God said: Let there be a firmament in the midst of the water, to separate water from water.
And God created the firmament, and separated the water under the firmament from the water above the firmament; and it would be so.
And God called the firmament heaven. And there would be evening and there would be morning, the second day.
The Third Day—Earth, Seas and Plants
Then God said: Let the water that is under the sky be gathered into one place, and let it appear dry. And so it would.
And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering waters he called seas; and God saw that it was good.
God said again: Let the earth bring forth grass, plants that bear seed, and fruitful trees that bear fruit according to their kinds, in which will be its seed on the earth. And so it would.
And let the earth bring forth grass, herbs, that bear seed according to their kinds, and trees that bring forth fruit, in which is its seed according to its kinds. And God saw that it was good.
And there would be evening and there would be morning, the third day.
The Fourth Day—Sun, Moon, and Stars
Then God said: Let them be seen in the firmament of heaven, to divide day and night, to be signs for times and days and years;
And let them shine in the firmament, to illuminate the earth. And so it would.
And God created two great visions: a greater vision to govern the day, and a lesser vision to govern the night, and the stars.
And God placed them in the firmament of heaven to illuminate the earth.
And to rule day and night, and to divide light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
And there would be evening and there would be morning, the fourth day.
The Fifth Day—Fish and Birds
Then God said: Let living souls teem on the water, and let birds fly above the earth under the firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales and all living creatures that move, that move on the water according to their kinds, and all winged birds according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good;
And God blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the seas with water, and let the birds multiply on the earth.
And there would be evening and there would be morning, the fifth day.
The Sixth Day—Land Animals and Mankind
Then God said: Let the earth release from itself living souls according to their kinds, cattle and small animals and beasts of the earth according to their kinds. And so it would.
And God created the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and cattle according to their kinds, and all the small animals of the earth according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said: Let us make man in our image, as we are, who will be lord over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over the whole earth and over all the animals that move on the earth.
And God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him; male and female create them.
And God blessed them, and God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and rule over it, and be lords over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every beast that moves on the earth.
And God also said: Behold, I have given you all the plants that bear seed on the whole earth, and all the trees bearing seed; it will be for your food.
And to all the beasts of the earth and to all the birds of the air and to everything that moves on the earth and in which there is a living soul, I gave all the grass to eat. And so it would.
Then God looked at everything he had created, and behold, it was very good. And there would be evening and there would be morning, the sixth day.
