ఆ పట్టణంలో ఒకవేళ యాభైమంది నీతిమంతులు ఉంటే ఆ యాభైమంది నీతిమంతుల కోసం పట్టణాన్ని నాశనం చేయకుండా రక్షించలేవా?

Ā paṭṭaṇanlō okavēḷa yābhaimandi nītimantulu uṇṭē ā yābhaimandi nītimantula kōsaṁ paṭṭaṇānni nāśanaṁ cēyakuṇḍā rakṣin̄calēvā?
If there were fifty righteous people in that town, could not the city be saved from destruction for those fifty righteous people?

అప్పడు అబ్రాహాము వారిని సమీపించి ఇలా అడిగాడు. “దుర్మార్గులతో పాటు నీతిమంతులను కూడా నాశనం చేస్తావా?

Appaḍu abrāhāmu vārini samīpin̄ci ilā aḍigāḍu. “Durmārgulatō pāṭu nītimantulanu kūḍā nāśanaṁ cēstāvā?

Then Abraham approached them and asked. “Will you destroy the righteous along with the wicked?

నీతిమంతులకూ దుర్మార్గులకూ ఒకే రకంగా తీర్పు తీర్చడం నీకు దూరమౌతుంది గాక. అలాగే దుర్మార్గులతో పాటుగా నీతిమంతులను నాశనం చేయడం నీకు దూరమౌతుంది గాక! సర్వలోకానికీ తీర్పు తీర్చేవాడు న్యాయం చెయ్యడా?”

Nītimantulakū durmārgulakū okē rakaṅgā tīrpu tīrcaḍaṁ nīku dūramautundi gāka. Alāgē durmārgulatō pāṭugā nītimantulanu nāśanaṁ cēyaḍaṁ nīku dūramautundi gāka! Sarvalōkānikī tīrpu tīrcēvāḍu n'yāyaṁ ceyyaḍā?”

Far be it from you to judge the righteous and the wicked alike. And may it be far from thee to destroy the righteous along with the wicked! Shall the judge of all the world do justice?”
