Προς Εβραίους 2:5

[] Διοτι δεν υπεταξεν εις αγγελους την οικουμενην την μελλουσαν, περι της οποιας λαλουμεν.
 
[] Dioti den ypetaxen eis angelous tin oikoumenin tin mellousan, peri tis opoias laloumen.
[] For he did not subject to angels the earthly one, the one we are talking about.

5 [] Διοτι δεν υπεταξεν εις αγγελους την οικουμενην την μελλουσαν, περι της οποιας λαλουμεν.
 
[] Dioti den ypetaxen eis angelous tin oikoumenin tin mellousan, peri tis opoias laloumen.
[] For he did not subject to angels the earthly one, the one we are talking about.
6 Εμαρτυρησε δε τις εν τινι μερει, λεγων· Τι ειναι ο ανθρωπος, ωστε να ενθυμησαι αυτον, Η ο υιος του ανθρωπου, ωστε να επισκεπτησαι αυτον;
 
Emartyrise de tis en tini merei, legon: Ti einai o anthropos, oste na enthymisai afton, I o yios tou anthropou, oste na episkeptisai afton?
And he protested against them in a few places, saying: What is man, that you should remember him, Or the son of man, that you should visit him?
7 Εκαμες αυτον ολιγον τι κατωτερον των αγγελων, με δοξαν και τιμην εστεφανωσας αυτον και κατεστησας αυτον επι τα εργα των χειρων σου·
 
Ekames afton oligon ti katoteron ton angelon, me doxan kai timin estefanosas afton kai katestisas afton epi ta erga ton cheiron sou:
You made him a little lower than the angels, you crowned him with glory and honor and set him on the works of your hands;
8 Παντα υπεταξας υποκατω των ποδων αυτου. Διοτι υποταξας εις αυτον τα παντα, δεν αφηκεν ουδεν ανυποτακτον εις αυτον. Τωρα ομως δεν βλεπομεν ετι τα παντα υποτεταγμενα εις αυτον·
 
Panta ypetaxas ypokato ton podon aftou. Dioti ypotaxas eis afton ta panta, den afiken ouden anypotakton eis afton. Tora omos den vlepomen eti ta panta ypotetagmena eis afton:
You have always submitted under his feet. Because you submitted everything to him, he left nothing unsubmissive to him. Now, however, we do not see that everything is subordinate to him;
Jesus Briefly Humbled
9 τον δε ολιγον τι παρα τους αγγελους ηλαττωμενον Ιησουν βλεπομεν δια το παθημα του θανατου με δοξαν και τιμην εστεφανωμενον, δια να γευθη θανατον υπερ παντος ανθρωπου δια της χαριτος του Θεου.
 
ton de oligon ti para tous angelous ilattomenon Iisoun vlepomen dia to pathima tou thanatou me doxan kai timin estefanomenon, dia na gefthi thanaton yper pantos anthropou dia tis charitos tou Theou.
and we see Jesus humbled by the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, so that he may taste death above all men through the grace of God.
10 [] Διοτι επρεπεν εις αυτον, δια τον οποιον ειναι τα παντα και δια του οποιου εγειναν τα παντα, φερων εις την δοξαν πολλους υιους, να καμη τελειον τον αρχηγον της σωτηριας αυτων δια των παθηματων.
 
[] Dioti eprepen eis afton, dia ton opoion einai ta panta kai dia tou opoiou egeinan ta panta, feron eis tin doxan pollous yious, na kami teleion ton archigon tis sotirias afton dia ton pathimaton.
[] For it was necessary for him, through whom all things are and through whom all things were made, bringing many sons to glory, to make perfect the leader of their salvation through suffering.
11 Επειδη και ο αγιαζων και οι αγιαζομενοι εξ ενος ειναι παντες· δι' ην αιτιαν δεν επαισχυνεται να ονομαζη αυτους αδελφους,
 
Epeidi kai o agiazon kai oi agiazomenoi ex enos einai pantes: di' in aitian den epaischynetai na onomazi aftous adelfous,
For both the sanctifier and the sanctified are all from one; for this reason he is not ashamed to call these brothers,
12 λεγων· Θελω απαγγειλει το ονομα σου προς τους αδελφους μου, εν μεσω εκκλησιας θελω σε υμνησει·
 
legon: Thelo apangeilei to onoma sou pros tous adelfous mou, en meso ekklisias thelo se ymnisei:
saying: I want to recite your name to my brothers, in the middle of the church I want to praise you;
13 και παλιν· Εγω θελω εχει την πεποιθησιν μου επ' αυτον· και παλιν· Ιδου, εγω και τα παιδια, τα οποια μοι εδωκεν ο Θεος.
 
kai palin: Ego thelo echei tin pepoithisin mou ep' afton: kai palin: Idou, ego kai ta paidia, ta opoia moi edoken o Theos.
and again: I will have my faith in him; and again: Behold, I and the children whom God has given me.
14 [] Επειδη λοιπον τα παιδια εμεθεξαν απο σαρκος και αιματος, και αυτος παρομοιως μετελαβεν απο των αυτων, δια να καταργηση δια του θανατου τον εχοντα το κρατος του θανατου, τουτεστι τον διαβολον,
 
[] Epeidi loipon ta paidia emethexan apo sarkos kai aimatos, kai aftos paromoios metelaven apo ton afton, dia na katargisi dia tou thanatou ton echonta to kratos tou thanatou, toutesti ton diavolon,
[] Because then the children became intoxicated with flesh and blood, and he likewise became of them, in order to abolish through death the one who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 και ελευθερωση εκεινους, οσοι δια τον φοβον του θανατου ησαν δια παντος του βιου υποκειμενοι εις την δουλειαν.
 
kai eleftherosi ekeinous, osoi dia ton fovon tou thanatou isan dia pantos tou viou ypokeimenoi eis tin douleian.
and liberation of those who, for fear of death, were subject to slavery all their lives.
16 Διοτι βεβαιως δεν ανελαβεν αγγελων φυσιν, αλλα σπερματος Αβρααμ ανελαβεν.
 
Dioti vevaios den anelaven angelon fysin, alla spermatos Avraam anelaven.
For surely he did not take on the nature of angels, but he did take on the seed of Abraham.
17 Οθεν επρεπε να ομοιωθη κατα παντα με τους αδελφους, δια να γεινη ελεημων και πιστος αρχιερευς εις τα προς τον Θεον, δια να καμνη εξιλεωσιν υπερ των αμαρτιων του λαου.
 
Othen eprepe na omoiothi kata panta me tous adelfous, dia na geini eleimon kai pistos archierefs eis ta pros ton Theon, dia na kamni exileosin yper ton amartion tou laou.
Hence he had to resemble his brothers in all respects, in order to become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things of God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 Επειδη καθ' οτι αυτος επαθε πειρασθεις, δυναται να βοηθηση τους πειραζομενους.
 
Epeidi kath' oti aftos epathe peirastheis, dynatai na voithisi tous peirazomenous.
Because he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
